Washington County, Oregon Inmate Search

To locate an inmate in Washington County, Oregon, individuals must often use public resources provided by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, which oversees detention operations and the welfare of those awaiting adjudication or serving short-term sentences of less than one year.

An inmate search in Washington County identifies residents currently held at the local jail. The Sheriff’s Office maintains a centralized inmate roster that encompasses all intakes, regardless of the initial arresting jurisdiction. For example, while Beaverton and Hillsboro represent the county’s most populous municipalities and are served by their respective police departments, these local agencies do not manage independent jails. Instead, individuals apprehended by the local police force are transported directly to the central Washington County Jail for formal booking and intake.

Notably, individuals convicted of felony charges with sentences exceeding one year are transferred to state prisons managed by the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC), and where the case resulted in federal sentencing, inmates are typically housed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP).

A standard inmate search typically reveals an inmate’s full name and booking information, including the charges filed by the arresting agency.

How to Find an Inmate in Washington County Jail

The Washington County Jail is the primary intake center for arrests and the central confinement facility for persons sentenced to less than one year in jail. Finding an inmate often involves accessing the county’s online jail roster (the "Search Adults in Custody" tool), which is refreshed every two hours to provide up-to-date information on recent arrests or intakes.

Requesters may also contact the Sheriff’s Office jail division by phone or visit in person during business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for inmate information.
